THE INSTITUTE
The AKD INSTITUTE OF MEDIA SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY is an endeavor of the AKD Group, a well known and renowned name in the Media Industry, to provide adequate education and training to Media personnel for a successful and self motivating career in the Media Industry. The Institute has been developed with a goal of providing Skill Development Programs in the fields of Journalism, Mass Communications and Broadcast Media.
Going beyond traditional education, the Institute aims to provide its students with Industry oriented Curriculum towards building of successful careers in the Media Environment. Unique programs have been developed towards provision of Core Skills and Job oriented Training for development into well rounded professionals.
THE CURRICULUM
With a vision of imparting comprehensive training in the fields of Media Creativity and Engineering, the Institute offers programs in Media Operations and Mass Communications for undergraduates, graduates and working professionals. The courses are designed to develop professional expertise and creative aptitudes towards development into a Global Media Professional. The AIMST Media Programs entail a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of Comprehensive Journalism, Creative Photography and Editing, Media Production and Operations and Broadcast Engineering.
The students are exposed to the fast changing industry requirements while being trained on the current communication technologies. This helps the students in not only enhancing their imaginative, intellectual and analytical skills, but also to confront the real world challenges for the future. They develop not only as outstandinf Media Professionals and Entrepreneurs but also as engaged global citizens.

Our programs have been developed towards imbibing creativity in its students by creating opportunities and traversing the world of creative Media, Technology and enterprise. Understanding that mere education and raw talent are not sufficient for success in the Media industry, our programs give creative direction and guidance to young media aspirants. Students are encouraged to develop ideas and employ diverse methods and materials towards mastering of technical skills with a creative approach.

The Media Technology and Mass Communications programs are designed with an updated curriculum which is designed by industry experts who contribute towards the content development. The students acquire an entire gamut of skill sets that are required in the Media Industry. Our programs are designed in accordance with the industry requirements and focuses on enhancing its students “employability quotient”.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT
The students are guided through a industry orientation program prior to start of the course lectures to enable students grasp the industry environment and requirements. It aims to build a creative foundation for the students to better grasp the creative angles of the studies. During the course curriculum, students are not only imparted practical training in the labs, but are also provided with opportunities of exploring the subjects in a real life industry environment.
On completion of the course, students are provided an Internship in the industry to further sharpen their skills. The Internship program is an integral part of all our courses and it is a mandatory part of our Course Curriculum.
On successful completion of the course and Internship, students are provided with adequate Placement assistance through industry sources.
