Social Media Executive

Social media is here to stay. It is changing communication, as we know it. Students need to understand this communication and be able to communicate effectively using it. Social Media skills are the engine for future communications and today, major jobs in on line communications are dedicated to Social Media. Knowing how to communicate through social media is important when a majority of companies and colleges use social media.

Communication online is different from paper. There are a large variety of communication venues through social media. Each has its own audience and purpose. Students will learn how to identify the audience and purpose, write for that purpose and audience, and develop their own audience.

 

Students will understand the responsibility that comes with posting to social media sites. Students will study law cases, discuss the difference between law and ethics, and evaluate how social media has changed communication. Students will also study how they are influenced through social media.

Duration

The course is a Skill Course conducted on weekdays Monday to Friday.

Theory and Practice, including Project : 340 Hours

Internship : 8 Weeks

Eligibility

Higher Secondary (10+2) or Equivalent

Course Content

The Course is affiliated to the Media and Entertainment Skills Council, under the National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India.

 

Internship

Three months of Internship is compulsory for all students undertaking the Course. Attendance during Internship has to be 100%, else Internship may be extended. For students averaging ‘A” Grade in Theory and Practical, a stipend of Rs. 2,500 per month would be paid during Internship.

Placement

Candidates passing the Certificate course would be considered for placements in the In House Broadcast activities and through other companies of repute in the fields of Digital Media.
