Broadcast Operations

All broadcasting stations and studios need the help of broadcast engineers in order for them to perform their functions effectively. Without these engineers, the operations in these studios and stations will be in chaos. Among the duties performed by broadcast engineers are maintaining the good condition of digital broadcast automation systems, radio equipment and digital recording tools and equipment and regulating the signal strength, range and clarity of sounds and the colors primarily designed for television and radio broadcasts.

Certified broadcast engineers are also in charge in installing, testing, operating and repairing all electronic tools and equipment that are mainly used to effectively transmit cable, television and radio programs. The course seeks to produce trained personnel who can manage and maintain the technical infrastructure required for media production and transmission. The course objective is to teach working principles and operational aspects of various technical systems employed in content acquisition, production and transmission in Radio and TV broadcasting. The teaching pedagogy involves a mix of theoretical inputs and hands-on training in real working environment at in house production facilities, visits and internship at Radio and TV broadcasting stations

The course has primarily designed for Technicians/ Engineers towards technically installing and maintaining a Broadcast system infrastructure. The course includes managing a real environment within the industry

 

Duration

1 Years (full-time)

Includes 9 Months of Classroom Training, including Practical and Projects and 3 Months of Internship on a Real time Broadcast Environment.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must have studied Physics and Maths at Sr. Secondary (10+2) level

Internship

Three months of Internship is compulsory for all students undertaking the Course. Attendance during Internship has to be 100%, else Internship may be extended

For students averaging ‘A” Grade in Theory and Practical, a stipend of Rs. 2,500 per month would be paid during Internship.

Placement

Candidates passing the Certificate course would be considered for placements in the In House Broadcast activities and through other companies of repute in the fields of Digital Media.
